This Campaign Officers Desk follows the design tradition of the master cabinetmakers of the 18th and 19th century who were commissioned by Officers in the British Army to create heirloom quality pieces that were not only exquisitely hand-crafted but also practical to set up when on the campaign trail. Built entirely by hand from solid Rhodesian Teak, the desk features extremely strong, decorative dovetail joints and is hand-sprayed with lacquer for a durable finish. Rhodesian Teak is extremely hard and dense and has a magnificent deep red brown natural color usually accented with some black streaking. All the solid brass fittings, corner guards and straps are cast in the United Kingdom and the brass connecting rod is machined to exacting specs in South Africa. The writing pad is genuine leather supplied by the same tannery that provides all the hides to The Courteney® Boot Company.

The shaped legs of the campaign desk hinge on the brass connecting rod. By removing the solid brass rod the legs fold and the connecting rod can be laid alongside. This facilitates transport and installation. The cover for the writing pad folds up and over when in use. Two large spacious drawers flank the writing pad and a stationery drawer opens underneath it.
