The Campaign Trunk is based on ones used by officers and sportsmen on safari in the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries. In keeping with the original design, it is protected on the corners, top and sides. The handles are hand stitched double thickness harness leather, bolted through the sides for strength. It is constructed from solid Rhodesian Teak and features premium dovetail joinery. This piece is finished with oil for easy touch-ups if need be. High quality solid brass top hinges are utilized and a restraining chain prevents the lid from opening too far. Please don’t attempt to lift this very heavy piece if the trunk is loaded with heavy items as that may cause damage to the handles and/or injury to you. The Campaign Trunk is ideal for storage space in a bedroom or doubling up as a coffee table/ trunk in a living area.
